This photograph was taken during a wedding at the Palms Hotel and Spa in Miami Beach. The Palms is a beautiful 4-star hotel that features a fun laid-back vibe, Close to Miami Beach and the Boardwalk. It’s located directly on the beach, the Palms includes a pool, spa, and multiple restaurants, ensuring all your guests enjoy their time before, during, and after your event. I have photographed many weddings at the palms, and each one has been a pleasure. The venue is beautiful and the catering is delicious. This particular couple decided to end their night with a sparkler exit, which was a perfect way to end the evening. I have photographed quite a few of these types of exits, however this was definitely one of my favorites. When the groom dipped his bride for a romantic kiss half way through the line I just knew I had gotten my money shot! Catching action wedding shots at night could be tricky. The photographer needs to use a shutter speed that is fast enough to freeze the action yet slow enough to let in enough light for a well exposed picture. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, or a more exciting couple. I processed this photo as a split tone, which is a combination of sepia and blue tones. I felt this allows you to really focus on the bride and groom and to feel the emotion behind the image.
