I took this photo for a masquerade themed party at the Fisher Island Club on Fisher Island in miami. Located just off the tip of Miami Beach and accessible only by private yacht or ferry, Fisher Island has the highest per capita income of any place in the United States. It is an exclusive private island paradise with world-class resort amenities. It also happens to be one of my favorite places to shoot, and for good reason. The Fisher Island Club is one of the most exclusive private membership clubs in the world, and is a beautiful venue for both weddings and corporate events. The stunning decor was provided by Guerdy Ocean Flowers, and incompases the masquerade theme perfectly. The mask shaped floral centerpieces added a unique touch, and the gold and purple hues provided a rich and warm atmosphere. The table settings included a mask for each guest, and the curtins surrounding the room brought even more style to the already elegant space. When photographing ballroom décor for either a wedding or corporate event I always photograph in such a way that the room lighting is also featured. If a photographer uses too much flash then the event photograph looks like a flash picture and all those really cool color will get washed out of the photographed. I really enjoyed photographing this event, as I do every event I have the pleasure to shoot at the Fisher Island Club. But even after all the years I have been shooting event photography this party still stands out as one of the most memorable.
